Maka Plat is a high-population, pre-rich garden world with a billion or more sophonts in population size, a near-ideal utopian environment conducive to most sophonts, and still lacks adequate population to expand its economy to a rich status.
- Its economy and population are rapidly growing and living conditions are expected to quickly rise barring outside forces.
- The world serves as the subsector capital with the significant extra trade and prestige associated with that role.
- This world-system has a Naval Base, usually associated with military starships, which may be located on or off-world.
- This world has an exploration base, which is similar to an Imperial Scout base, capable of handling explorer personnel and exploratory starships.
- It is a member of the Pirian Domain in the Maka Subsector of Gakghang Sector.
"Maka" is slang for "Maker". Craftsmanship is prized in the local culture, which has made this system a primary supplier of manufactured goods - including starships for the raids from Vargrlaunch, especially once PD FuelFac 3 opened in 550. (Indeed, enabling this trade was one of the reasons PD FuelFac 3 was set up when it was.)
Thus, when the Empress Wave came by, there was an outpouring of creative effort. The most successful solutions amounted to cheap, one-use low berths, lasting about a year before their patients needed to be revived and unable to be used beyond that. This limited the immediate population reduction, though the Wave's effects on fauna and flora had not been anticipated, resulting in the usual industrial destruction - though Maka Plat bounced back from that much faster than most worlds with surviving populations.
Maka Plat has dominated its neighbor worlds Maka Sumt and Maka Seal enough that they were named part of the Maka "constellation", though as of 1105 there is no remaining active influence (Sumt's remaining population has been abandoned to die of old age, and Seal has been depopulated).
Maka Plat became majority Vargr in the 600s as a result of immigration facilitated by PD FuelFac 3, and has remained so ever since. Given standard Pirian culture in that time, this is less significant than it would be for a world of the Third Imperium.

Mainworld Size (S)[edit]
Maka Plat is a Meso World between 8,800km and 10,400km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.6G and 0.8G. The horizon will appear about 4.4km away.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Maka Plat has a pressure of 1.50 to 2.49 atmospheres. A Dense Atmosphere requires no survival gear although it may be hard on sophonts not accustomed to it.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
Maka Plat has 55-65% of its surface covered by liquid water. It has significant large liquid bodies. Wilderness refueling is possible.

World Starport (Sp)[edit]
Maka Plat has a Class A Starport, an excellent quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and other kinds of repair, and construction of both starships and non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
World Population (P)[edit]
Maka Plat has a population of 1,000,000,000 sophonts (billions).
- High Population Worlds like this tend to have huge consumer markets.
World Demographics[edit]
No information yet available.
World Government (G)[edit]
Maka Plat is governed by a Charismatic Oligarchy, like a charismatic dictatorship in that a larger group has asserted their right to rule. The group will have better rules of succession and may last longer or may transition to a non-charismatic dictatorship.
World Law Level (L)[edit]
Maka Plat has a high law level with laws covering many areas of interactions of people, corporations, and the government. A few worlds with this law level may be Amber Zones. Any interaction with the judicial system requires an Advocate trained in the local legal system. Law enforcement is present almost everywhere, either as people or via technology. Legal proceedings can take weeks to months to resolve and involve a dozen or more people. All objects specifically manufactured as weapons are typically regulated or prohibited (outside private residences or visiting starships).
World Technology Level (TL)[edit]
Maka Plat possesses a Technology Level of TL–13 or TL-D in Hexadecimal Notation.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Holovideo recorders.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Miniature super-batteries, prototype collectors, advanced fusion plants.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land, Water & Air: Personal G-Tubes and advanced gravcraft.
- Space: Advanced interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
- FTL: Jump Drive-4.
